that provide strength in your life.
Very little of it
has to do with exercise.
One day,
you will look back
at the things you thought
would break you
and realize
that you survived each one.
It doesn't always feel
like a grand victory.
Sometimes, it feels quiet;
and frantic; but steady.
You will take note that the storms
that should have decimated you,
were walked through.
Sometimes you stumbled.
Sometimes you fell.
Sometimes you wept.
Sometimes you paused.
And then ...
you braved one more step ...
and then another.
That is the strength
that no one claps for.
There is no trophy or ribbon or title,
but it is the strength that carries you
and that the rest of your life
is built upon.
With a nod to my 'nother mother who shared the above,
(of course it has been Lynified),
with the hope that she realizes that she is part of that strength
for me.
Enjoy your weekend.
