Every Place

This time of year always messes with me.
This year, the words tried to help.
I think, perhaps, they did.
Please let me know whatcha think ...

Every Place
by Lyn Marinello 3/21/26

For far too many years
I have dreaded April first
The day you left this marble
And my little bubble burst

The pain was overwhelming
My anchor point displaced
Scattered, twisted, tattered, frayed
Death’s bitter aftertaste

I questioned my decisions
Angered by my loss
Isolated, lonely
Your absence - my albatross

As the days tick by I wondered
If I was stuck in my own way
Lethargic from life-loathing
Debilitated by my dismay

And so I finally focused
On the facets you held dear
I still stumble constantly
But a new path’s been made clear

I hear you in the music
I see you in my grands
I hear you in my language
I feel you in my hands

I know you’re in the whispers
Of the wind as it blows by
I trust you shape the clouds
When I look up to the sky

I see you in the blossoms
I love you in the chimes
I feel you in the sunshine
Thank you for the rhymes

I know that you’re not present
Though your pull’s like the ocean tide
You’re in every place I ever go
You’ve never left my side.

Me, Myself and I

Perhaps it is because I am the only girl of seven children ...
but here's my take on a spicy topic ...

I never needed "someone who looked like me"
to chase an opportunity or a venture.
What truly spurred me on
was someone telling me I couldn't do it.
Somebody saying that you're too little,
you're too big, you're a girl, you're too weak.
Tell me there's never been a girl on the golf team,
here ... hold my tees.
Tell me I'm too big for ballet ...
get out of my way on the gymnastics floor.
Tell me I'm not strong enough ...
let me bust some goals while bodybuilding.
I didn't need a role model.
I needed me, myself and I.
I fed on the obstacle to overcome it.

Of course, there are role models to watch,
but they come in all shapes and sizes
and I filtered what worked from what didn't.

What about you?

When you arise ...

When you arise in the morning,
think of what a precious privilege it is
to be alive ~
to breathe, to think,
to enjoy, to love.

~ Marcus Aurelius

Enjoy the day!

NAQ

This.

It is so simple
and yet so incredibly powerful
and the ripples reach places
you will never know ...

Never Admire Quietly
If you admire something
about someone, tell them.
We humans
are so very fragile.
It is important that
we give people their flowers
while they are still here.
A simple kind word
can truly alter a life.
Never Admire Quietly

Wonderful Wednesdays

I already do Thankful Thursdays ...
now (if I can remember),
I will work on Wonderful Wednesdays!

May your life be filled
with kind people
and happy moments.
Your direction
is more important
than your speed.
And ...
don't let idiots
ruin your day.

Have the best day ever!!!

What are you watering?

Came across this nugget
and just adored it.
Thought I'd share with you ...
because I love ya!

It is the thoughts
we water each day
that become
the garden we live in.

What are you watering?
Make good choices ...

Ch-Angels

Back to the roots -
the foundation.

Ch-Angels

Angels of Change ...
people who create a better world
by simply existing.
They shed light in dark spaces.
They bring hope to the chaos.
They offer strength to the weak.
They speak truth to those
eager to learn it.
They carry weights not meant for them
to lighten the load of another.
They share levity in the static.
They give of time, talent and self.
They pray for all the souls.

I have been so incredibly blessed
to be insulated by so very many of
these graceful creatures.

I hope you find your Ch-Angel today ...

To Be

Nope.
No Shakespeare here.
Just found this,
loved it,
and wanted to share ...

Instead of focusing
on a to-do list,
I'm starting
a to-be list.

I want to be:
Happy
Calm
Positive
Pleasant
Loving
Healthy
Helpful
Hopeful
Faithful
...

What about you?

Ful ...

On this Thankful Thursday,
I am sharing this beautiful little quip.
Short, sweet and spectacular!

Be thankful for yesterday.
Be grateful for today.
Be hopeful for tomorrow.

Have a blessed day.

oh goodness ... YES!

Just stumbled across this beauty
and the more times I read it,
the more I really like it.

The universe meets you
at the depth
of your surrender;
not the height
of your struggle.

It's really quite powerful
to realize this.

Top o' the morning

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!
Here's hoping you've got your green on
and are determined to enjoy this day.

This may not be very Irish,
but it is beautiful ... and true!

You can't
compete with me.
I want you
to win, too.

Imagine the world
if we all garnered that mindset ...

An Awakening

A few words that rolled around and fell out.
Whatchathink?

An Awakening
by Lyn Marinello    3/14/2026

As the frosty frigid talons
Of winter lose their grip
The daggered ice stalactites
Begin their vernal drip
It is light a little earlier
And dusk remains at bay
The biting wind still whips
As sky blues battle gray
Daffodils and crocuses
Are first to push the dirt with care
And fledgling hawks are squealing
As they test new wings on air
Tiny buds on willows
Azaleas burst in vast array
Dogwoods, not to be outdone,
Flourish in a grand display
Baby birds are chirping
Raindrops bring new growth
Temps begin ascending
Mother Nature keeps her oath
What is dormant in the cold
Is merely resting for rebirth
A newness and a freshness
An awakening of the earth

Burn out?

For so so so many folks ...

It is not burn out.
It is your soul
asking for silence.

Take a moment ...
for your health,
for your heart,
for your self.

Choice

Love this.
Afterward, I will share
the Marinello simplified version ...

Happiness is a choice
It is a byproduct of
appreciation, gratitude
and contentment.
It is based on
how you view your life,
not how your life is.

Marinello-ized ...

You can be happy,
or you can be crappy.
Make good choices.

Sometimes

Sometimes,
the greatest gift
you can
give another person
is to simply
include them ...

A process I am continually learning
with many personalities where I work.

What do you see?

Saw a friend's post this morning,
which was very visual,
but I believe I can get the point across.

It was a gentleman requesting that
when the screen changed to a still shot
he asked that in just 3 seconds
you find three things that are blue.
The picture changed and
I noted three blue items.
When the screen changed back
to the gentleman, he asked,
"What was yellow?"

Far too often, we see only
what we know or want to know
and we do not see everything
that's out there.

Makes ya go hmmmmmmm, right?
What do you see???

Tuesday, March 10, 2026

Oh My Goodness!

Saw this yesterday after work
and about fell off the couch.
Often times we are looking
for earth-shattering or colossal ...

Sometimes,
miracles are
just good people
with kind hearts.

It is extraordinary
what can emerge
from decency.

Have a great day!

Words to Blume by

From one Miss Judy ...

Our fingerprints
do not fade
from the lives
we touch.

What marks
will you be leaving???

Secrets

Here are a few secrets I've learned
over the past seeming 100 years of life ...

You can't jump on every bandwagon that passes by.
Pretty soon you'll end up someplace you don't want to be.
If you don't like what you hear, do some research.
Ask questions. Go to the source. Find the truth.
Don't ever follow anyone or anything blindly ~
(except God and the Bible) ~
be your own best source
of information and intelligence.
Be willing to stand up and stand out.
You were never meant to be ordinary.
Be wary of instant anything.
There is nothing more powerful
than hard work and dedication.

Feel free to add some tidbits.
I'd love to hear what you've learned ...

New

Even at the end of the week ...

New day
New thoughts
New possibilities
New opportunities
New strengths
New ideas
New doors
New ways
New you

Your failures do not contain you
Your past does not define you
You can do this ...

YOU

For those that may feel a little lost,
or unworthy, or unimportant ...

How cool is it
that the same God
who created mountains
and oceans and galaxies,
looked around and thought ...
the world needs one of
YOU!

You have reason and purpose,
import and significance.
You matter.
You are necessary.

Strength

Booker T Washington gave us this gem ...
and what a gem it is!

There are two ways
of exerting one's strength:
one is pushing down,
the other is pulling up.

Make good choices, peeps.

Today

Today,
in the midst of my own chaos,
there is light and lifting.
When we pay attention,
we can find the detours,
the opportunities, the gifts
that buoy us in our troubled waters.
Look what today is ...

I Want You To Be Happy Day

I do.

Happy Trails

It's been a sleepless few nights over here.
Whether the pooch or the prose,
I have not seen the Sandman in a minute.
I do hope you enjoy the outcome.
It is a few of my favorite things
all kind of mashed up together.
Please let me know whatcha think.

Happy Trails
by Lyn Marinello 3/1/26

Of all the paths you wander down
Make sure a few of them are dirt
And when the trail is dimly lit
Be certain to stay alert
Pathways lead not just north or south
There is purpose to the casual stroll
It often leads to clarity
Of the body, the mind, the soul
Be sure to walk in balance
Know that even the hardest climb
Leads to beautiful destinations
And view spectacularly sublime
What are sometimes seen as wrong turns
Are merely redirections
Routes that were not planned on
Are serendipitous course corrections
Take the road less travelled
Leave the beaten path and blaze a trail
Struggle through the underbrush
There is beauty to unveil
It is said between any two pine trees
Lies a doorway, explorations to exhaust
To roam may not define one as wayward
Certainly, not all who wander are lost
Remembering the journeys
And the barriers surmounted
Pairs of steps supporting yokes
And the victories recounted
When the body and soul are spent
And in retrospect we view
In those moments of single footprints
It was then that He carried you.
