Ch-Angels

These folks, Ch-Angels,
are everywhere
if you choose to look for them.

They are the ones
that offer smiles
that share kindness
that give assistance
that dole out freely
that love wholly.

They want nothing in return.
They expect nothing for their actions.
They require no provocation.
They act solely on one purpose:

to make another life better.


Wouldn't it be nice
if we were all Ch-Angels?!

Heed The Words

There are days
when I'd like to try
to smack the stupid out of people.
It is those days
that I have to stop, breathe,
ponder the consequences,
and remember that I don't look good in orange.
Life is too short
to waste your time on things
that really have no impact on your life.
Find pleasure right beside you.
Eliminate the static.
Avoid the piles.

Come to Your Senses

Taste all of the flavors.
Keep trying things. Preparation is key.
What you didn't like last year, may be your new favorite this year.
See everything you can.
Travel. Read. Watch.
Absorb the colors, the vistas, the creatures, the spaces.
Smell each fragrance.
Fresh cut grass. Approaching rain. Pie. Babies. Puppy breath.
Flowers. The ocean. The woods. Food. Fresh air.
Listen to the music.
The music of nature. The music of the sea. The music of music.
The humming of sunrise. The hush of nightfall. The beauty of laughter.
Touch what you can.
Feel your way. Texture transmits a multitude of information and emotion.
Rough stuff. Smooth stuff. Glossy stuff. Prickly stuff.
And hug . . . whenever possible.

Come to your senses
and experience every little thing out there.

Edumacation

Learning is living.
Learn new things each day.
Try different offerings.
Walk different paths.
Listen to different folks.
Seek much information.
Invest in yourself.
Broaden your horizons.
Read a vast array of topics.
Travel frequently.
Speak to veterans.
Examine your surroundings.

but I do believe it is a lesson for all of us.
Doesn't make a difference if you're a dad, a mom,

What better objective could there be?
It doesn't take a fortune to make a difference.
You don't need to spoil them

It is much more a matter of love and time.

Spend quality time with them.

Be with them.
Converse with them.
Share with them.
Show pride in them.
Snuggle with them.
Love them.

A tiny little word
with enormous weight.
Easily given.
Eagerly wanted.
Exceptionally difficult to retrieve once lost.

We have few things to truly give in this world.
Our word and the trust behind it
carry a great source of strength and stability.

As life's journey
ebbs and flows through time
we might gather a few spots that
we refer to as 'Home'.
As you might visit old structures
where monumental events occurred,
and reminisce about milestones,
there is always only one 'Home;'

where the heart is.

There might be a
melancholoy quiet without my babies,
but beside my husband,
my hand in his,
his smile directed at me,
those dimples,
those arms around me,
his silliness,
his laughter,
his mere presence . . .
I am Home.

Today is National Simplicity Day.

Boy, do I wish I could share this directly with specific folk.
I will just hope it finds its way to those that need it.

Life really isn't meant to be complicated.
Sure, we may run into a snag or two,
but how you handle those hiccups

I was always taught to say

I was always on top of my kids to say

I'm not Susie Etiquette about time frames,
but expedience is genuinely appreciated.
We do not do things contingent on a Please.
And we do not wait on Thank You.
We do stuff because it is the right thing to do,
and we just hope someone else was taught
proper manners.
It is not always the case.
That is their cross to carry.

Today we celebrate the Independence of these United States.
Nothing worth fighting for ever comes easy.
Celebrate today with respect and admiration
for those that came before you to give you that right.


And I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died

and defend Her still today

Make a Difference

July is Make a Difference to Children Month.
One of my most favorite things EVER!

It doesn't need to be much.
You don't have to pay for their college.
You don't have to buy them a car.
You don't need to gift them a new iPhone.
Sometimes, just your time
is the most precious commodity you can give.
A hug, an ear, a shoulder,
some guidance,
unfettered wisdom,
and love ~
none of which costs a dadgum thing
but can create a total world of difference.
