Stuff

Came across this and loved it.
Thought I'd share and,
of course,
embellish.

The truth is
all of the 'stuff' here on earth,
we work so hard to accumulate,
does not mean a thing.
At the end of the day,
no ...
at the end of A day,
people will be
cleaning out our 'stuff',
going through our 'stuff',
figuring out what to do
with all our 'stuff'.
The 'stuff' that we've amassed.
The only thing of value that remains
are the memories
and what we deposit into others.
What memories are you creating?
What will folks remember about you?
Divisive words? Finger pointing?
Name calling? Intolerance?
May we all learn to spend less time
accumulating 'stuff',
looking for affirmation and accolades,
searching for approval,
and much more time
making magical memories.

Hey there kids! I'm back ~ sort of.
Was supposed to be 'sailing the high seas',
but instead battled the vid for a week. Weeee.
Not quite the disconnect I was searching for,
but I did get some good rest.
See you a little more regularly ...

R & R & R & R

Rest & Relax & Recharge & Rejuvenate!

Will be off-grid for a week or so.
Please do your best to stay positive.
Realize all the goodness and kindness
and beauty and blessings that live
around and within you.
If you do not feel the blessing,
be the blessing.
If you cannot see the goodness,
be the goodness.
If you cannot find the positive,
be the positive.
No grand gestures necessary.
Tiny acts of simple sweet humanity
can make all the difference
in the world.
Until we meet again ...

People

Sometimes,
as I wonder through memories,
I am overwhelmed
with the realization
of who you are
and what you did
to help me build myself ~
sometimes from fragments
and remnants;
sometimes toward victories
and championships;
sometimes just a little better
than the day before.
There are so many people
who played their role
and walked away,
broke me and bragged,
lingered and loved.
Each of you
was/is vital in my journey.
The bruises healed,
and I grew stronger.
The friendship faded,
but the memories are joyous.
The bond continues,
and I am grateful.
The people we encounter
become whatever life
and our decisions make them.
I am thankful for my tribe,
for my stepping stones,
for my sounding boards,
for my support,
for my friends and family
and framily,
for my people.

Share

We spend a vast majority
of our youths
attempting to "fit in";
to be on trend,
to squeak in with the 'it' crowd,
to be fashionable,
to be popular,
to be like everyone else.
I have come to realize,
through life's wringer cycle,
that we were never meant
to "fit in",
to be part of the 'it' crowd,
to be like everyone else.
We are each created
to stand out,
to own our talents,
to excel in our uniqueness,
to beam in our own beauty.
We are gifted
with being individuals.
We are blessed
with special talents and gifts,
raw or refined,
that sit in wait to be shared.
Please ...
go share yours.
The world needs you.

Mountain

From Brianna Wiest ...

for those that might be climbing ...

One day,
the mountain that looms
in front of you
will be so far behind you,
it will barely be visible
in the distance.

But the person you become
in learning to get over it?

That will stay with you
forever.
And that
is the point
of the mountain.

Love

We all have within us
the opportunity to be a miracle-worker.
For some it is oozing out of every pore.
For others, it is buried deep within.
And even with the miracle-worker,
so begins a beautiful circle ...

The way of the miracle-worker
is to see all human behavior
as one of two things:
either love,
or a call for love.

Father

Our Father,
which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done
in earth, as it is
in Heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread.
And forgive us
our trespasses,
as we forgive those
that trespass against us.
And lead us not
into temptation,
but deliver us
from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power,
and the glory,
for ever and ever
Amen.

Always

From one Mel Robbins ~

There will always
be someone
who cannot see
your worth.
Don't let it
be you.

Check that mirror this morning.
You look maaaahvelous!

Write

For myself,
my children,
my dear friends,
and folks that don't know
they need to know this yet:

~ from David Sedaris

Write relentlessly,
until you find
your voice.
Then,
use it.

Lovely

By an unknown author ...
brilliance!

How lovely is
the silence
of
growing things.

Thanks, Johnny

I walked through a county courthouse square
On a park bench an old man was sitting there
I said, your old courthouse is kinda run down
He said, naw, it'll do for our little town
I said, your old flagpole has leaned a little bit
And that's a ragged old flag you got hanging on it

He said, have a seat, and I sat down
Is this the first time you've been to our little town?
I said, I think it is
He said, I don't like to brag
But we're kinda proud of that ragged old flag

You see, we got a little hole in that flag there when
Washington took it across the Delaware
And it got powder-burned the night Francis Scott Key
Sat watching it writing say can you see
And it got a bad rip in New Orleans
With Packingham and Jackson tuggin' at its seams

And it almost fell at the Alamo
Beside the texas flag, but she waved on though
She got cut with a sword at Chancellorsville
And she got cut again at Shiloh Hill
There was Robert E. Lee, Beauregard, and Bragg
And the south wind blew hard on that ragged old flag

On Flanders field in World War one
She got a big hole from a Bertha gun
She turned blood red in World War Two
She hung limp and low a time or two
She was in Korea and Vietnam
She went where she was sent by Uncle Sam

She waved from our ships upon the Briny foam
And now they've about quit waving her back here at home
In her own good land here she's been abused
She's been burned, dishonored, denied, and refused

And the government for which she stands
Is scandalized throughout the land
And she's getting threadbare and wearing thin
But she's in good shape for the shape she's in
'Cause she's been through the fire before
And I believe she can take a whole lot more

So we raise her up every morning
We take her down every night
We don't let her touch the ground and we fold her up right
On second thought, I do like to brag
'Cause I'm mighty proud of that ragged old flag

Light

To honor Random Acts of Light Day ...
this:

"This, my dear,
is the greatest challenge
to being alive:

to witness the injustice
of this world,

and not allow it
to consume
our light."

Challenge

Stole this from a friend.
It is incredibly spot on.
Thanks, Deb.

You must always be willing
to truly consider evidence
that contradicts your beliefs,
and admit the possibility
that you may be wrong.

Intelligence
isn't knowing everything.
It's the ability
to challenge
everything you know.

All! Of! This!

You don't have to
move mountains.
Simply fall in love
with life.
Be a tornado
of happiness,
gratitude and
acceptance.
You will
change the world
just by being
a warm,
kind hearted
human being.

~ Anita Krizzan

Oh yes, please!

Short and sweet today
from Rumi:

Raise your words,
not your voice.
It is rain
that grows flowers,
not thunder.

Carry on ...

Becoming

This may very well be
a repeat,
but it speaks to me.
Hope it finds
whoever else
might need to hear it.

Trust the wait.
Embrace
the uncertainty.
Enjoy
the beauty
of becoming.

WCD

Today is
World Caring Day!
Stop cramming your opinions
down people's throats.
Stop dreaming up
the next conspiracy nonsense.
Stop fighting and screaming,
yelling and belittling.
Start Caring!
It doesn't take much ...
a kind word,
a selfless gesture,
an open hand,
an open heart.
What a beautiful place
we could live in.

A Little Willy

Fix yourself, people.
I'm speaking of Mr. Shakespeare!
And just a tiny snippet to
start your Monday off properly:

Love sought
is good,
but given
unsought,
is better.

Great Version

We are all familiar
with the quote:

"Do not judge me
til you've walked a mile
in my shoes."

Great stuff,
and true,
but I just adore
this version:

"Don't let anyone
who hasn't been
in your shoes
tell you how
to tie your laces."

Whatchathink?

Be Afraid

Saw this quote and just loved it.
(author unknown)
Sharing for those
that might need to read it.

Don't be afraid
of being different,
be afraid
of being the same
as everyone else.

Think

From Indira Ghandi ...

You cannot shake hands
with a clenched fist.

Think about that.
Really think about that.

Say Something Nice

As far as nice things go ...
this one takes the cake!
(author unknown)

It is nice
to be important,
but it is
far more important
to be nice.

Love this!
