Your soul speaks

There are moments
that take our breath away.
Accomplishment
as we graduate or finish
school or a large task.
Overwhelming love
as we marry that
one special soul out there.
Incredible joy
as we create
another life and watch it grow.
Indescribable sorrow
as we mourn a life we cherished
taken too soon.
Whatever you are feeling,
feel it with absolutely everything
that you are.
Your feelings are your soul
speaking to the world.

Morning Person

I find it quite comical when people say,
"I'm not a morning person."

Really?
Are you flesh and bone?
Check that one off.
You're a person.
Are you awake before noon?
Check that one off.
It is morning.
Therefore . . . you're a 'Morning Person'.
How you choose to behave
is entirely up to you.

My take . . .
I woke up!
What a glorious gift.
I do believe I will make the most
of what has been given to me.
Perception is absolutely everything!

Be Happy

Someone might share news with you
that doesn't fit your schedule,
doesn't jive with your agenda,
doesn't impact your end goal.
If it's good for them . . .
be happy!
Let go of yourself for one moment
and realize the value of this step
for that person.
When we celebrate the victories of others,
the joy becomes infectious.
When we allow ourselves to understand
that we are witnessing growth,
and positivity,
and blessings,
the benefits to everyone around us multiplies.
Think beyond your own self.
Think beyond your own needs.
Think beyond your own world.
Rejoice in the beauty of their dreams.
Be Happy!

Puzzling

I'm a big puzzle person,
when I can actually find time
and space to tackle one.
Let's ponder puzzles
for just a hot minute.

In a box, it's just a pile
of mashed paper
all heaped together.
With the right guidance,
patience, space and hand,
this mashed pile of nonsense
cohesively fits together
to become a beautiful picture.

Now . . .
think of that
in human terms . . .

To inspire . . .

One of my most favorite quotes EVER:

She made wings
out of broken things
and rose above
the ones
that hurt her.

This is so very powerful
and I could tag so very many people
to remind them of their strength,
to renew in them resilience,
to point out their tenacity,
to give them hope.

And still

My heart has been shattered
and still
I choose kindness.
My face has been lied to
and still
I choose trust.
My soul has been burdened
and still
I choose positivity.
My faith has been tested
and still
I choose prayer.
My dreams have been crushed
and still
I pursue passions.
My person has been attacked
and still
I choose love.

What are you looking for?

Whether you are
looking for problems,
looking for trouble,
looking for weakness,
looking for hate,
you will find it.

And if you are
looking for silver linings,
looking for beauty,
looking for kindness,
looking for love,
you'll find it.

What are you looking for?

KOKO

Keep On Keepin' On!

I can't remember when that phrase entered my brain,
but I was very little.
Obviously, it has become lodged in pretty much
every facet of my life.

Bad news?  KOKO
Difficult situation? KOKO
Angry?  KOKO
Hurt heart?  KOKO
Things will always be occurring around you.
Curve balls will be thrown.
Chasms will open.
Walls will appear.
What do you do?

Keep On Keepin' On!

Dear People

Dear People,

Our world is in disarray.
We are so concerned with offending someone,
that we will accept anything.
This is not ok.
Set your standards.
Maintain your morals.
Uphold your ethics.
You will never be able to please everyone.
Do the right thing.
Practice kindness.
Work hard for what you want.
Share what you are able.
Open your arms and your heart.
Realize your worth.
Do not be tread upon.
Stand your ground - factually and physically.
You can do ALL those things
without pointing fingers,
demeaning others,
or being hateful.
Make the world a better place
for having been in it.

Sincerely,
Other People

Imagine . . .

Today is Common Courtesy Day.

I repeat:

Common. Courtesy. Day.

It's not difficult people,
although it's becoming less and less common.
When you have a plethora of choices,
choose kindness.
Be polite, helpful, caring, nice.
Start in your little corner
and spread that stuff everywhere!

Wow!

Simple things like this little quote,
are sometimes extremely powerful.
This one really struck me this morning.
I think it will resonate differently
with different people.
Please enjoy:

Learn me slowly.
Please,
be patient
with my pages.

Booyah!!!

Legacy

Legacy:

is planting seeds in a garden
you'll never get to see.

is not leaving something for people,
but leaving something in people.

to have been known as
a kind and compassionate human.

not what is engraved in stone,
but what is woven into hearts.

to pursue a cause,
not the applause.

is not living forever,
but leaving a memory that will.

Courage

Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes,
it is that small voice at day's end
that whispers,
"I'll try again tomorrow."
To follow a dream,
to pursue a passion,
to achieve a goal,
to be better . . .
courage is the path to take,
faith is your guide.

An Irish Tidbit

Because tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day,
I though it might be appropriate
to share an Irish tidbit with you.

What fills the eyes,
fills the heart.

Seek to see the good in people,
the positive in situations,
the kindness in mayhem,
the love beyond the hate.

Enjoy your shenanigans.

Make the best of everything

Whatever life throws at you,
make the best of it.

Don't wallow in anger,
make the best of the energy.
Don't seethe in hate,
make the best of your blessings.
Don't fritter away in idleness,
make the best of all your time.
Don't be sad about the distance,
make the best of every conversation.
Don't be bitter about betrayal,
make the best of the lesson.
Don't be upset about their passing,
make the best of their living.
Don't wish away the hours,
make the best of every second.

For every circumstance,
there is a choice to make.
Make good choices.
Make the best of everything.

Choose Kind

When you have a choice to make;
choose kind.
Do the right thing.
Respect other's space and property.
Assist when you can.
Listen without adding.
Care without judging.
Give without recognition.
Lift others up.
Hug often and sincerely.
Love without condition.
Choose kind.

GSD

Today is Good Samaritan Day!
That just means that somehow
today was able to wrangle a title.
Go about your business.
But when you are able,
at any given opportunity,
should an occasion present itself . . .
do some good.
Hold a door.
Offer a compliment.
Assist someone - doing anything.
(except something illegal!
very few of us look good in orange)
Share your talents.
Give sound advice.
Pay for the person(s) behind you.
Do Some Good!

Life is good

In doing good for others,
we lighten the load on ourselves.
When we lose sight of our issues,
we gain perspective on how we can help.
When we stop staring at our problems,
we find an extraordinary world to look at.
When you find yourself growing weary,
stop, count your blessings, and realize
how gifted you are.
Life is good.

Big Debt

I owe myself
the biggest apology
for putting up
with what
I didn't deserve.

Saturday, March 9, 2019

Look

When it is dark
look for stars.
When it rains
look for rainbows.
When it hurts
look for growth.
When it angers
look for motivation.
When it lies
look for an exit.
When it loves
look to make it last.

Already There

Faith tells me
that no matter
what lies ahead of me,
my Angels
are already there.

Aaaaaamen!

Be Heard

It is National Be Heard Day!

Find what you are passionate about.
Realize the value of your input.
And, whether by voice
or by action,
Be Heard!

No yelling.
No screaming.
No demeaning.
No pushing.
No shoving.
No bullying.

Just speak your piece
and speak your peace.

Be Heard.

A Better Day

Today,
I wish for you
A Better Day!
If yesterday was mean and hurtful,
today I wish you happiness.
If yesterday was just exhausting,
today I wish you rest.
If yesterday was full of hurdles,
today I wish you open road.
If yesterday was depressing,
today I wish you happiness.
If yesterday was full of giggles,
today I wish you belly laughs.
If yesterday was a restful day,
today I wish you productivity.
If yesterday was full of goodness,
today I wish you thankfulness.
If yesterday you won the lottery,
today I hope you figure out
who to share it with.
Whatever kind of day you had . . .
I really and truly hope that today is . . .
A Better Day.

A little more . . .

One need not be wealthy
to add;
to embellish;
to give joy
to someone else.
A brief stop to really chat;
a moment of belly laughter;
a second to enjoy some beauty;
a note to let someone know you care;
a hug - that has that extra squish.
Simple things
that may not seem like much to you,
but mean the absolute world
to someone else.
Ah . . .
if only the world were filled
with
a little more . . .

Live

Sadly,
most folks
just kind of exist.
But to live,
is the rarest gift
of all.

Huge Success

I have been working
for a very, very, very long time.
I began proofreading and
doing layout at age 9.
Basic typesetting shortly thereafter.
Design, graphics, customer service after that.
(Toss in about a thousand other jobs
here and there that just added to the skillset.)
I was making great money
and able to travel and do what I wanted
right out of high school, so . . .
I never went to college and got a degree.
And . . . what I've learned . . .
although a lot of folks expect one
for you to perform a task,
your creativity has little to do
with the degree you hold.
It has everything to do
with how you use your skills and knowledge
to better the world.

I working toward being a huge success!
How about you?

Anger

Anger is a fickle beast.
One must learn to harness it correctly.
Left wild and untamed,
it can ruin a day quite quickly;
spark rants and unwelcomed remarks;
eat away at every bit of your insides.
Bridled properly,
you can use it to push yourself;
to reach new goals and achievements;
for determination on steroids.
YOU are in charge
of how you allow anger
to dwell in you.
