Sunshine

From one J.M. Barre:

Those who
bring sunshine
to the lives of others
cannot keep it
from themselves.

Enjoy your day.

Gentle

I really don't think
there is anyone in particular
to credit for this,
but there are so many people
(including my little self)
that need to hear it.

Be gentle
with yourself.
You're doing
the best you can.

Answers

By becoming the answer
to someone's prayer,
we often find
the answers to our own.

Wish

Loved this when I read it.
Perhaps someone out there
needs to see this.
Hope it finds its target ...

Never wish them pain.
That's not who you are.
If they caused you pain,
they must have pain inside.
Wish them healing.
That's what they need.
~ NZ

And sometimes,
it is in that wishing
that we heal ourselves.

Important Life Lesson

Took me a long time to learn this,
but good gravy,
this is a great lesson!

You can forgive someone
and not want
anything to do with them.
Forgiveness
is for past reconciliation
not for future consideration.

Some Seuss Juice for your Hump Day

Friends,
especially those
who are aching ...
carpe diem.

Sometimes,
you will never know
the value
of a moment
until it becomes
a memory.

Make them.
Cherish them.
Hold tight.
Hang on.

Take one down, pass it around ...

No, no, no!
I'm not talking about
ninety-nine bottles of beer on the wall.

Today is National Compliment Day.

If you are blessed enough
to receive one,
accept it graciously and gratefully
and then ...
turn around and pass it along
to someone else.

Compliments cost you nothing,
but are priceless to some
and buoys to others.

You never know
the good you'll do
with a simple
kind word.

Say it again, Sagan ...

This wonderful bit of wisdom
was thrown out into the world
by Carl Sagan.
Some folks might need
a gentle reminder.

In all our searching,
the only thing we've found
that makes
the emptiness bearable
is each other.

National Hugging Day

A little something I threw together on the fly.
It's National Hugging Day! My favorite!!!

A Hug
by Lyn Marinello

There's nothing out there like a hug
to squish one back together.
It doesn't take a big bank account
and can be done in any weather.
You simply open up your arms
and, in doing so, your heart.
Wrap them all around another soul
and it's amazing what you'll start.
The pressures of the day
seem to fade into the air
and the knowledge fills that space
that you took the time to care.
The warmth of soul to soul;
two bodies pressed together tight;
kindness given selflessly
to alleviate another's plight.
Words need not be spoken.
Nothing can really explain
the magic of a really good hug
and the joy it brings to one's brain...
Someone really cares for me.
Someone worries for my soul.
They've enveloped me in their being
to help heal me and make me whole.
And as you walk away improved
feeling joyful, loved, secure;
share that hug with someone else
who might just need a little more.

Get out there and get hugging!

Mitcherson

These two lovely tidbits are
from John Mitchell and RW Emerson ~
hence the "Mitcherson" title.

Enjoy and live it ...

Our attitude toward life
determines
life's attitude toward us.
and
It is a happy talent
to know how to play.

The latter is something
that my Momma always pursued
and taught us to do, as well.

Enjoy your Friday.

A Thursday Thing

An Apache Blessing
that I'm just loving:

May the Sun
bring you new energy by day.
May the Moon
softly restore you by night.
May the Rain
wash away your worries.
May the Breeze
blow new strength into your being.
May you Walk
gently through the world
and know its beauty
all the days of your life.

This! All. Of. This.

So here are a few things
that seem to carry
quite a healthy message.

Do not get upset
with people and situations.
Both are powerless
without your reaction.

Never be a prisoner of your past.
It was a lesson,
not a life sentence.

Walking is the best exercise
for mental health.
Walk away from
chaos, negativity and hate.

and finally ...
for so, so many friends
who may be struggling

Be proud
of how you've been handling
these past few days, months, years.
The silent battles that you fought,
the moments you humbled yourself,
the wiping away of your own tears,
the back patting you did for/to yourself.
Celebrate your strength.
You are an extraordinary human,
capable of great and momentous things,
if you allow yourself the chance.

LOVE This

Sometimes,
things just really
touch me.
There really
REALLY
needs to be
more of this:

Admire and compliment
someone else's beauty
without questioning
your own.

Void

I keep a writing book
with me at work
(thank you Kelly).
When I am inspired,
or moved,
or impelled to write,
I do.

This,
for whatever reason,
came out of my pen
last week.

Sometimes,
I surprise myself.

When we go,
we leave a void ~
which is defined as:
an empty space.
The trick, dear friends,
is to turn that negative
into a positive,
and that void
into a soulful and peaceful place
of celebration and thanks.

Saturday Smash

Here's a little combo for you
to start your weekend
and perhaps inspire you:

People may hear your words,
but they feel your attitude.
Our prime purpose in life
is to help others.

So, if those two things are true,
then, with a positive attitude,
we can be an uplifting source
to other humans.

Let's give that a try, shall we?

Ch-Angel Susan

And there,
toward the end
of a rather trying week,
sat an unassuming
tissue-wrapped gift
at my desk.
A simple heart
adorned the paper.
Under many layers
there appeared
an Angel tapestry.
My heart swelled.
My eyes leaked.
My soul smiled.
Thank you!
You make it better.

For my friends ...

There are certain folks
that have touched my life
who epitomize this ...

And God said:
"Send them without wings
so no one suspects
it's an Angel."

You know who you are.
Thank you.

Stories

So, sometimes,
I see things and
am immediately impacted
by its weight or truth or simplicity.
This one got me this morning.
Not sure why, but it did.
What are your thoughts?

Stories always go on.
They don't end
on the last page,
any more than
they begin
on the first page.

Searching

By Rumi,
this quote just seemed
to reach out to me today.
Perhaps someone is in need ...

Maybe you are searching
among the branches
for what only appears
in the roots.

May in January

Even though it's January,
may you always know
that you are worthy.
May you always know
that you are loved.
May you always have
faith in your head
and hope in your heart.
May you always feel
accompanied ~
by Angels,
if not friends and family.
May you always be aware
of your unique beauty
and integral value.
May you know gratitude.

Connected

With the stresses of holiday life gone by
and the tasks we had at hand fulfilled,
words have been a bit more frequent
to me and for me.

Let me know whatcha think of this guy ...

Connected
by Lyn Marinello

We were literally once connected
Providing sustenance for soul and heart
Two completely separate entities
Uniquely bound while we're apart
There was tremendous growth
Both literal and symbolic
Occasional mayhem and chaos
Mostly peaceful and bucolic
An underlying intuition
Thoughts conveyed with only eyes
Anguish, anger, joy and tales
Unconditional compromise
Tethered by more than umbilical
And the proverbial apron strings
A bond of strength indefinable
A constant current beneath one's wings
An unfathomable depth of caring
An eternal protective force
Unbreakable faith and vigilance
An external internal source
The link is sometimes frayed
Or tied in impossible knots
You may even think it severed
When embroiled in worrisome spots
But distance cannot muffle
What exists beyond this realm
We've got a co-pilot always
When standing frazzled at the helm
That channel is forever
Sometimes dulled, but not depleted
Only strengthened in expansion
Enhanced when it's repeated

A Frost-y Morning

For any friends or folks
who might be
facing a mountain;
a few wise words
per Mr. Robert Frost ...

The best way out
is through.

Another Perspective

With the new year upon us,
here's a good way
to face each day
that greets us:

I'm not old,
I've just been young
for a very long time.

Be well. Be wonderful.
See the good.
Be the good.

Perspective & Purpose

I am a firm believer in this perspective
and believe we all have a purpose
to define ourselves.

I am NOT a product
of my circumstances.
I AM a product
of my decisions.

Think on that.

A Gentle Lift

This little quote did not have anyone to acknowledge.
I would surely do so.
I am learning to be lighter
in my thoughts,
in my hopes,
in my heart.

May you have
Heaven in your heart;
Starlight in your soul;
and
Angels all around you.

Let the negativity go.
Focus on what you can do.
Do that really well.

Light

A beautiful Brene Brown quote.
Please ... read it ... several times;
and believe it!

Only when we are
brave enough
to explore the darkness;
will we discover
the infinite power
of our light.

Shine on ...
