Hope

I hope that
you become filled
with so much happiness
that it heals
every part of you.

I didn't write this.
Just seemed like
a message
that needed
to be shared.

Enjoy your day!

Appearances

This is not my quote,
but I'm truly loving this.
Being a nature lover,
of course this hits home,
but it's just so much more than that!

Things are not always
what they seem.
The deer is not
crossing the road.
The road is
crossing his forest.

Think, people.
Really think.

Touch It

Hey there!
Rarely do I duplicate my posts in a blog,
or my blog in a post.
It just seemed right today ...

Hello new week!
Hello blessed Monday!
Hello friends!
Take what the day brings to you
and touch it
with kindness and hope
and love and compassion
and leave it better
than it came to you.
Imagine what could happen
if we all
did such a thing?!

A little Billy

With all of the unpacking,
and rummaging,
and remembering ...
I somehow keep finding myself
(I could stop there)
singing this favorite of mine:

Souvenir
A picture postcard
A folded stub
A program of the play
File away your photographs
Of your holiday
And your mementos
Will turn to dust
But that's the price you pay
For every year's a souvenir
That slowly fades away
Every year's a souvenir
That slowly fades away

Hope

Short and sweet ...
(I'm sorry. I'm tired.)

Hope
is the feather
that
reminds us
we have wings.

Memories

Oh ...
to bring memories
out of boxes
is to re-live them;
to re-feel them;
to re-learn them;
to re-laugh them;
to re-cry them;
to re-love them.

Legacy

I believe this may actually be a repeat blog,
but it holds true and integral meaning
for each and every one of us.

Legacy:
Planting seeds in a garden
you never get to see.

What's your legacy?

Love them anyway

As I scroll through my feed,
wincing at some posts,
laughing at others,
I realize a few very important things.

1. People vent.
It is healthy, natural and normal.
It is not healthy to remain venting.
Love them anyway.

2. People are crass.
It is okay and sometimes silly.
Silly is good for a healthy mental state.
Love them anyway.

3. People whine.
It is okay to complain -
briefly.
Love them anyway.

4. People pick fights.
It's really not acceptable,
but has a lot to do with their self-esteem.
Love them anyway.

5. People want attention.
Again, it's really not acceptable
but has a lot to do with their self-esteem.
Love them anyway.

Whatever it is that irks you,
it happens for a particular reason
at the specific time.
Instead of reacting or responding,
Love them anyway.

Spring

Hey there Spring!
Thanks for showing up.
Gotta love new growth,
new blooms,
flower bursts and
beautiful blue skies.
(Sorry for those with allergies.)
Enjoy what's new.
Breathe in that smell of 'starting again'.
Get out there and
enjoy the day!

Oh My, This!!!

Saw this quote by Henry David
and was just ...

None are so old
as those
who have
outlived
enthusiasm.

It's National Laughter Day.
Dust off that enthusiasm
and enjoy your day!

Dear Self

Dear Self,

I have seen you struggling.
I know your hardships,
your shortcomings,
your failures.
I feel your heartache,
your sadness,
your frailty.
But realize
how far you have already gone,
how much you've already overcome,
how much strength you've gathered.
Understand that
you are capable of your dreams,
you are beautiful inside and out,
you are worthy and vital and lovely.
Know that
the mirror is not your enemy,
your faults do not define you,
you possess, in abundance,
what you find so appealing in others.
Believe in you.
I do.

Love,
Me

that it brings.

Justice

With a nod back to my preacher pal ...
I came across a line from a sermon he gave
that truly NEEDS to be heard.

There is bad stuff out there.
There are bad people out there.
Bad groups, bad apples, bad timing,
bad choices, bad events, bad reactions.
As immediate and responsive
as this world is becoming,
Justice is not revenge.
If you are upset by an event,
angered by an occurrence,
disillusioned by happenings,
then become a positive step
toward changing whatever it is
that's bothering you.
There is due process,
a small thing called evidence
(which, in no way EVER,
should be swayed
by emotion or fervor),
and innocence til proven guilty.
Your feelings bare no weight on a verdict.

Justice is not revenge.

What if you were the one charged?
Just a little Tuesday pondering for ya ...

Beautiful People

I did not write this,
but it is extraordinary!

The most beautiful people
I have known are those
who have known defeat,
known struggle, known loss,
and have found their way
out of the depths.
These persons have
an appreciation, a sensitivity,
and an understanding of life
that fills them
with compassion, gentleness,
and a deep loving concern.
Beautiful people
do not just happen.

CUKD

I can't say I coined this,
but I sure do use it a lot.
When faced with dilemmas,
tribulations, hardships, loss,
mayhem, madness, pain and more,
you are allowed to
let the process move through you.
You can grieve.
You can be angry.
You can sob.
But, through it all, remember this:

Chin Up, Knees Down!

You will never face anything
you cannot overcome.
You may not understand,
and may not land on the ground
you had hoped to be,
but you will be precisely
where you're meant to be.
Faith and Prayer!
Ask and Thank!
Bravery and Humility!

Chin Up, Knees Down!

Happy

No one ever injured their eyesight
by looking on the bright side.
No one ever hurt their tongue
by speaking only positives.
No one ever broke their back
by giving what they're able.
No one soiled their soul
by being kind and caring.
You can do and be happy
and share that with others.
It is not torture.
It is choice.

Comfort

Although the joints may creak,
and parts may surely ache,
wrinkles may increase,
and the gray hair appears,
eyesight's diminished,
hearing's impaired,
still ...
there is a comfort in aging.
Comfort in your beliefs.
Comfort in your past.
Comfort in your soul.
Comfort in your choices.
Comfort in your voice.
Comfort in your quiet.
Comfort in your skin.
Comfort in your self.

Sunshine

When there is darkness,
be the light.
When there is sadness,
be the song.
When there is pain,
be the joy.
When there is crying,
be the laughter.
When there is hate,
be the love.
When there is cold,
be the sunshine!

Angels

Faith tells me
that no matter
what lies ahead,
my Angels
are already there;
preparing,
protecting,
promising
providing.

Right to be wrong

Part of a quote by David M. Burns:

... Never give up
your right to be wrong,
because then you will lose
the ability to learn new things
and move forward in your life.

Right to be wrong!
Love this.

Gratitude

I did not write this, but ... boy, oh boy! ...

If you begin and end your days
with thoughts of gratitude,
you'll find yourself living
from a place of abundance
rather than lack.
Those first and final moments
set the tone
for the many minutes
that fall in between.

Amen to that!!!

God's Choice

So ... I have this preacher pal
that I'm rather close to
who gave a sermon a short bit ago
and a certain phrase really struck a chord.

It was in reference to benevolence:

If you are aware
of a need,
you probably are
God's choice
to meet that need!

Now ... go back and read that again.

We don't always realize the simplistic
yet enormous weight
of that very incredibly true statement.

Compliments

Today is World Compliment Day.
Find a way to
seek out the good,
search for the beauty,
comment on a smile,
give kudos for the effort,
acknowledge nice hair,
speak of sparkly eyes,
give praise for inner beauty.
It is easy to see,
simple to speak,
and does so much good.
