Magic

I found a post with no author,
so I will steal it, embellish,
and call it my own! ;-)

(But to whomever wrote it ... Thank you!)

I crave a life
filled with magic
in the smallest
of things.
In the cardinal
at my feeder,
the lapping
of the waves,
the cold cloud
of bison's breath,
the purity
of a child's giggle,
the joyous jaunt
of baby goats,
the owls
as they hoot,
the quiet
of the woods,
the beauty
of a clear blue sky,
the wonder
of the stars at night,
the serenity
of love,
the surety
of prayer.

The Answers

Who has 'the answers'?
Not me.

I know one book that'll help,
but we each make choices
each day,
that guide us toward
a good day or a bad day,
a helpful day or a hurtful day,
an uplifting day or a demeaning day.
And so ...
I read my book
and try to be a good human,
sharing a smile,
offering a kind word,
assisting when possible,
building other people up,
and leaving every place I visit
a little better than I found it.

Have yourselves
an extraordinary day.

Voltaire

A little Voltaire for you this morning:

the most important decision
you will ever make
is to be
in a good mood.

Go!

A little snippet from Anthony Bourdain:

Travel is not reward
for working,
it's education
for living.

It's OK

It's OK
to be stuck.
It's OK
to be tired.
It's OK
to be sad.
It's OK
to be angry.
It's OK
to be confused.
It's OK
to be depressed.
It is NOT ok
to stay there.
Seek help,
guidance,
direction,
assistance,
an outlet,
faith.

Be like

Be like
the ocean:
Breathtaking
to look at,
strong enough
to not be destroyed,
and gentle enough
so others find comfort
in your presence.
~cwbrooke

The same
could be said
for the mountains.
Seek your peace
where you are
most at ease
and bring that feeling
with you
to everyone you meet.

The lion & the lamb

The lion & the lamb
by Lyn Marinello

The roar of the lion
accompanies March.
Blustery and showy;
a mane without starch.
Boastful and bragging,
baring its teeth,
defending the chill
from what lies underneath.
But wait, there's a bleating,
a meek, tiny ring
that shares with the world
that we're nearing Spring.
And tired from prowling
the lion rests from his sham,
gives way to gentle newness,
lays, at peace, with the lamb.
