From the tiny little infant
Who knows nothing but its Momma,
To the active rowdy toddler
Who wants only your attention;
The rebellious, angst-filled teen
Who is angry with the world;
The eager dream-filled graduate
Who seeks a conquered world;
To the sweet and swooning newlyweds
That envision forever away;
To the sleep-deprived new parents
Fantasizing of off-spring's futures;
To the weary, near retirement
Concerned with security for remaining days ...
Here's a bit of wisdom
that can be shared at any age ...
Be present in the here
Be active in the now
Embrace each stage of life
Don't wish them all away
Count your every blessing
Hold the ones you cherish
Know the priceless value
Of the hands and hearts you touch
Use kind words and compliments
Face each thorny obstacle
As a challenge to improve
Be grateful for every moment
Savor togetherness and laughter
There is magic in making memories
Seek to slow the ticking of the clock
Life is precious, as are you, be here ... now.
