Joy

I have lived surrounded by woods
and I have lived by the water.
Each holds a special spot in my heart.
Each brings a soothing peace to my soul.
The lapping waves; the quiet solitude.
The rhythmic roll; the lulling chirp.
Joy is where you find it.
I've never been a city girl.
They're fun; but that's not where my heart is.
I'm most content in nature;
enveloped by the beautiful gifts God created;
surrounded by creatures and sights and smells
that only come from the purity of this Earth.
