Build wisely!

For any of you who might have ever, in your lives, felt a little alone, or perhaps betrayed, or maybe like you're swimming against the current . . . this one's for you.

A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.
       ~ David Brinkley

Not sure why this inspired me so strongly, but I just feel that we have all had those moments when we were targets for something other than complete niceness and those moments hurt. The challenge in life, is to take those moments . . . those bricks of insensitivity, hurtfulness, ignorance, and jealousy . . . and build something beautiful. Use the blood, sweat, and tears that you have poured into your projects and efforts as the mortar to bond those bricks steadfastly together. Build your foundation on faith and belief. Stack your walls with passion and soul. Inset windows to view the beautiful and bountiful blessings you have. Open your doors to goodness, kindness, and generosity. Top it off with heart and happiness!

An incredible 'life house' built despite what others have said and done to you. You can build whatever you choose to build! Build wisely!

  1. Pete Seeger once had a large rock thrown at his car when he was driving to Peekskill to perform with Paul Robeson. The rock crashed through his window and just missed his sleeping son. He kept that rock, and later when he built his log cabin in Beacon he put that rock in full view as part of his chimney, in his living room.

    1. How very profound. I have never heard that story, but it just simply proves my words correct, eh? Very, very cool! Thanks, so much, for sharing! xo

  2. One car carried Woody Guthrie, Lee Hays, Pete From Wikipedia----Seeger, Seeger's wife Toshi, and his infant children. Guthrie pinned a shirt to the inside of the window to stop it shattering. "Wouldn't you know it, Woody pinned up a red shirt," Hays was to remember.[21] Seeger used some of the thrown rocks to build the chimney of his cabin in the Town of Fishkill, NY, to stand as a reminder of that incident.[22]
