I actually saw this little snippet on a friend's post today and it resonated quite profoundly with me. Maybe it's due to all this negative political nonsense. Maybe it's because of the senseless, hurtful act that took place in Colorado. Maybe it's because of the constant bickering about who is right and who is wrong, when a majority of those types of arguments are very personal and have no true conclusion or definitive winner.
"Heaven on Earth . . . it is a choice we make, not a place we must find."
If you want peace, practice peace. If you want love and acceptance, practice love and acceptance. You cannot forcibly shove your ideals down anyone's throat. That kind of defeats the purpose. Practice all the things you preach. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Set the example for others to follow. When your head is on straight, and you are certain of your motives and your ideals, there is no reason to fight, to bicker, to be so negative.
